THE ENVIRONMENT
Children's Corner occupies the ground floor of a detached house and has its own purpose designed garden with paved area for bikes, tricycles, balancing bars, paddling pools, sand box and water play as well as an adventure play area with climbing frame, slides ladders etc. set in a safety surface for all weather outdoor activities. The equipment is regularly maintained and updated, as children's safety is paramount at all times.
The indoor area has three separate rooms and a lobby room. The equipment used ranges from Montessori and educational teaching aids to general toys and games, sand and water play , home corner with multi-cultural toys, dressing up and 'Soft Play' blocks for indoor physical activities. There is a large selection of books to which the children have access on a daily basis.
The nursery provides the children with milk and biscuits or fruit and juice mid morning and mid afternoon, a two course cooked lunch and full afternoon tea. All meals are freshly prepared on the premises and are carefully balanced to provide a varied, healthy and nutritious diet. Great care is taken for children with special dietary requirements.
Children are NOT segregated by age, except in formal key group teaching, which means that siblings attending the nursery may remain together for most of the day if they so chose, thereby keeping the 'family unit' - a very important developmental situation during pre-school years.
Parents must feel at all times that their children are not only well looked after and cared for, but are also in a safe environment that provides a 'home away from home' (which is achieved by being in a house rather than a large hall) where they can have lots of fun while growing up in a stimulating and caring atmosphere.
